I recently replaced my pre-mod Xion 2 case with a gorgeous CM stacker 832
so its time to hack up the old case!
here it is sitting on my new workbench, which is tons better than the grubby table i used to mod upon
nibbled out fan holes ( no money for a knockout punch)
a little space near the PSU for wire routing
and feature #1 of this mod
replacing the stock plastic with modder's mesh! which arrived the next day
(carbon fiber film, squeegee, u channel trim too)
I also used the box from MNPCtech as a template for the mesh
a test fitting
and a rear-view
I'm going to pick up some thinner and clearcoat later, so i can prepare the mesh for final installation
I'm not sure how much more work will go into this mod, it'll probably end up a casual side project. But i do have a plan to do some lighting in the front, I just need to buy 4 LEDs and resistors.
