Is the P35 the best chipset for the Core2 duo as far as overclocking and speed is concerned?

    Thanks for any help

P35 while good and supports DDR3 i would much rather go with the 680i or 650i because there are some issues with some boards using DDR2 with some P35 and DDR3 is not really worth it right now with it's really high latencies.

plus most 680i and 650i boards are cheaper than P35 boards

I'm willing to wait until DDR3 is just as fast as DDR2 is. I'd even rather jump to DDR3 even if it's slower, knowing that it will be faster in the long run. I'm running straight up DDR400 right now, so it's not really a big deal.

How do the Nforce chips compare the the P35 in terms of speed and overclockability?

Thanks for all your help guys! I think i'm going to wait until thanksgiving weekend to upgrade my PC. DDR3 might come down a little by then and there should be more DDR3 boards out too.
