CoolIT Systems - PCI Cooling Booster

I enter a contest on another site to try to win a OCZ gaming mouse. Last week I received a email telling me that I didn't win the mouse but I did win a CoolIT Systems PCI Cooling Booster. I got the booster the other day and the first thing that I noticed was that the fan wasn't attached to the setup. When I opened the package the fan fell out separate from the rest of the product. The fan is mounted by way of double face tape. I pressed the fan back onto the tape and it held the fan in place for about 4 hours and the fan fell off just sitting on the table. The rest of the system is of good quality aluminum and the fit and finish of it is very good. The fan has mounting holes for LEDs and the web site shows that the unit has blue LEDs but mine didn't come with any at all. So now you know a little about it and here are some photos to show it to ya.

So if you decide to make a purchase of this unit be prepared to do some work about fixing the mounting setup of the fan. Happy Modding to ya.

How does it mount? looks like it might go vertically along the slots where the PCI blanks are screwed in, but I'm not sure...

I see how it mounts, but it looks like it would be a pain to add or remove cards with that thing installed. That sucks that it fell off, good luck getting it working.

Brightshininglights is correct about how it installs. Remove the screw that holds a PCI card in place and screw in the Booster in it's place. To remove any PCI cards after you have installed the Booster you will have to remove the booster first. Hope anyone that purchases the booster gets the LEDs that is suppose to be in it. Happy Modding to ya.

Are you going to drill holes in it to mount the fan and get it working?

Yes sir, I will be drilling holes to mount the fan, I don't know if I'll be putting LEDs into the fan, I have decided on that yet. Happy Modding to ya.
