    Whats considered the Budget Card?

Hey there, I'm currently running on a 256mb PCIEx16 6800 XT. Its a nice card and all but I'm thinking its getting that time again to upgrade. I'm out of the tech loop so if anyone could fill me in on a solid gaming card that wont kill me wallet I'd love ya and get you chinese!

...If I dont eat it first that is

    Thanks

    Whats considered the Budget Card?

For an Nvidia card I'd say try the 8500GT, I'm using this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143109 , but I got mine for $70 when it was on sale at a local store.

Runs games like Oblivion and Crysis just fine, I wish I got 2 of them but I have a micro ATX board and it only has 1 PCIE slot

To me you couldn't go below an 8800 GT and call it a solid gaming card. You can get a 8800 GT for around $219 and for a few more bucks you can get a better performing 8800 GTS for around $250 or so. If you like ATI, you can go with a HD 3870 single slot card for $169 or so.

Well as solid as under 150 would get me ha. In the end I settled for an 8600 GT 256mb Pcie16 as I'm not on vista and god only knows whats going to happen with hardware/software interaction regarding DX10 in the next year or two. With the next gen games starting to peek out, its time for the next gen cards to come out so I figure going for top of the top wouldn't be too wise for me with my budget for now.
