ah...see i have noticed alot of reviews pointing out the 8800gt's can keep up with the 260 im so stuck though as on the other hand, there are games that dont support sli..or dont like it very much "crysis" springs to mind although i do get the same frame rates as the 260.....but a gtx 260 for £169.99 thats pretty damn good..... im so lost lol

Actually the scaling on the GTX 260 would still be better than the 2 8800s I think. ... Now, Do you want to keep up or pass? lol See, a single 260 now and another added later would be like adding nitrous. I'd say go 260 if you have the extra cash, but if not 2 8800s ain't no slouch.

hm...see now i would be selling my 2 8800gt cards, that way i wouldnt really lose any money, i would just have to use a temp computer for a while i will wait for an email of the guy to see how long he has them in for, something else i wondered, would a gtx 260 be better at higher res? i like to game at real high res's lol so...?

The 260 is better than the two 8800's but not by that much. However it does OC very well I'm told. It's a power hungry beast I think too. If that matters to you. Are you stuck on Nvidia? If not I think I'd go with a 4870 instead. They are cheaper, cooler and use less power and, correct me if I'm wrong, faster.

Indeed only slightly, if any depending on settings and other factors, for a start ... but add another and then you have a great difference. Yes, they do OC very well or so I have read. And take 500+ watt PSU depending on the version you get. Yep, Shel your correct, from what I have read the 4870 surprised folks by coming in above the GTX 260 in Benchmarks, and does indeed have several perks like price etc. It is something to indeed think about.

I myself will probably be getting the BFG GTX 260 OC soon and will let you know what I think. Of course I just play CoD4 and UT3, but I love my eye candy and playability.

ah i see, i have considered the 4870 but im a nvidia fanboy since my 9 series ati card failed me...also i use a 680i board which is based on nvidia...i would have to change my hardware to use the 4870 in crossfire mode, am i correct? as of course i will get a second card...it saves me money in the long run, damn this is really hard...
