Easy to mod a 3-pin fan to work with power molex connector??

Hey guys, i bought a fan, and have no available 3-pin heards on my mobo for fans.....is there any way to have it run directly to Power?....is it easy to wire up....any guides to do so much appreciated...

    from what i understand:

3 pins = 1 pin power, 1 pin ground, 1 pin speed detector (not needed if not going ot mobo)

....now i need to know how to wire it so i can use my std psu molex to connect it....do i cut the fan cable, and connect positive/negative to a male molex, and leave out the fan connector?....which one is which?

    Thanks

Assuming your fan is a 12v fan, you can splice in a 4 pin female molex and tie the fan power to the 12v pin, and the ground to one of the black pins in the middle. Not difficult at all.

    OR

You can do as noted above, and actually pick up a prebuilt adaptor. Most fans come with the adaptor cable. What fan is this?

Sorted - i had a look at my other fan with a molex, and wired it exactly the same, all working perfectly...

Fan is a GELID WING 8 Silent....very nice fans, looks performance, and silent as anything when using the noise dampeners

    Cheers guys!
