A desk lamp where the lamp itself is replaced by a 7" LCD touchscreen monitor and the unit runs from an external power supply. When the LCD is swiveled down, it emits a white light, which can also just be launched by an application, then tilted down. When swiveled vertically, the touch screen can be used as a keyboard, remote application launcher, media center control panel, or simply to display photos. And if you don't want to watch what everyone else is watching on TV, you can plug in some headphones and swivel the monitor towards yourself to watch your own DVDs or the internal PCI-E TV tuner with the swivel arm acting as or housing an antennae. Since it runs on an external power supply, the LCD monitor can also be disconnected from the arm and the whole unit can be used in a car along with a USB bluetooth GPS for navigation, watching DVDs or OTA television.
