Here is my second case mod, it is the most basic design, a box with a lighted window to see the inside. To help keep it small the Blu-Ray drive and hard drive would be excluded in the case but would be external and hook up through the usb ports. Instead of using a regular psu the picoPSU (or simular) would be used to help save space. The dimensions of such a case would only be about 7in by 7in (not sure about the height, but a little taller than the motherboard). USB ports could be added to the front of the case for more accessibility. The case fan could be placed on either side (which ever would cool the cpu better) and so could the power jack. This is a very practical design that would be simple and cheap to build.

Here is a view of the front:

You need a hard drive to make a computer work. Just mount it under the motherboard or something. The only thing that MIGHT work would be a eSATA hard drive, which this board has 1 spot for.

An external hard drive can be hooked up and windows can be installed on it and ran from it. This design is to have the case as small as it physically can get, by making the Blu-Ray drive and hard drive external this is possible.

Here is the cost of materials:

    PSU: picoPSU $65.00 http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=10#picoPSU with 110W AC Universal Adapter 12V 9A $58.33 http://www.mini-itx.com/store/default.asp?c=10#ac80
External Optical Drive: Buffalo MediaStation $72.99 http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1790999
External HDD: My Book Home Edition 500 GB (hooked up via eSata) $106.99 http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1347876
    Case Fan: Diablotek 80mm $7.99 http://www.circuitcity.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3976148&CatId=803
Case lighting: 4in Dual Blue Cold Cathode Kit(x2) $11.98 http://www.xoxide.com/4in-blue-cold-cathode-kit.html
Case Feet: LED Acrylic Footstep Mod (Blue) $8.99 http://www.xoxide.com/ledacfomod.html
Other: Badge Lite (Blue) $11.95 http://www.crazypc.com/products/PC8490.html

This would leave $155.78 towords the case material (not sure how much it would cost).

I update the cost of materials and materials used. The blue cathode lights would be placed in the top of the case on the left and right side so that they are not visible through the plexiglass when looking directly above. The badge light would be place on the front of the case on the right side, it would have the ION logo on it. I would have the switches for the lights be custom mounted on the side so it would be easier to reach.

Instead of having the lights be blue they could be green to help resemble nVidia.
