    My new toys...

Been a busy week for me after coming home from QuakeCon... Just drove up north of Chicago yesterday to pick up a few new toys.

Brand Electronics Power Meter Model 20-1850 and a Sun Moon SM-268 Active Load tester for testing PSU's. Soon the fun will follow. Or should I say sparks.

    I suggest a halon extinguisher
... avoids that powdery mess everywhere after putting out the fire

Oh I will take the necessary precautions. Still have a few more pieces to pickup before I can get started on the testing.

Very cool. Now you can post some reliable data on PSU testing that is truly valid and not reliant on manufacturers claims! I've seen data posts on some other websites but:

    a) The results weren't formatted consistently.
    b) Seemed to be very selective about which type and brands they tested.
    c) Some data seemed to be biased to reflect more opinion rather than fact.

Personally, I'd absolutely trust and rely on Tazz's findings more so than someone I didn't know. Can't wait for this to begin . "No, the grounding strap goes on the other hand".

Oh I don't think anyone needs to rely on just any one persons opinion. I always suggest people read multiple reviews before making their decisions. Always read multiple reviews, you can never get to much information about a product. I hope to be testing PSU's here in the near future. The tester I purchased will be pulling double duty once I get things setup (JonnyGURU.com & Modders-Inc.com). This is basically the same setup that Jeremy uses for JonnyGURU.com.
