    Christmas Angel tree computer build

I have picked up an angel off of an "Adopt an angel" tree. I think it was placed in front of me for a reason. The child is wanting a computer.

Having done charitable builds before, it is a wonderful feeling to give one away! I have a lot of the parts in my personal stash, but I have gaps. I am looking for sponsors to help pull this off. Any friends or vendors that are feeling the Christmas spirit, please message me.

    Thanks in advance!

Shoot out a list and we will get it filled one way or another!

I have placed a message on the front page of the site and another thought to go along with it.

I can offer up a couple items.

I have quite a stash of goodies that I've won as LAN prizes, bought on Black Friday's, bought for future products, etc.

I would never sell a lan prize received as a gift from a sponsor, but I think giving to a good cause would be a great idea.

I can offer a new case, some 120 mm fans, some red or green lighting, and I have some Antec Cobra cables for floppy laying around too. I may have more but I need to look.

Thank you AF for the fron page, and I love the idea of multiple systems! Let's see what we can do!

Vash - Thank you very much for the kind words and encouragement!

Bob - here is my list thus far, and I like your thinking!

Ok, so here is what I have currently:
Processor - AMD Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition
    Motherboard - Asus M3N72-D
    RAM - got it covered
    Video - Sapphire HD4870
Case - NZXT Zero 2 or a DD Water Box
A good sized hard drive - Filled! Western Digital stepped up! (Thank you Rob @ Techgage.com) KICK ASS!!!
++AMD Phenom II X4 processor to upgrade the system - Filled!!! WOW!
Good quality Power Supply - Filled. Simply amazing! THANK YOU RICHARD!

    Needs:

    good AM2+ Air cooled heatsink

    Windows 7 Operating System
    LCD Monitor
    keyboard and mouse
    speakers
    Good fans

    *wishes*

++Kids games (Going to talk to the church to find out if I can get any more info on the kid. He wanted animal books and a computer), so I am thinking SPORE (animal creation and evolution game), maybe some of the Lego games.

++If anyone sees something in my list, and they have something better that they want to donate, message me and we will discuss. I want to give a present like no other... filled with love and configured so that the kid can upgrade it as needed easily. I don't want to make anything that is so overwhelming that the family is afraid to touch it!

I also do not know if the family has broadband or access to the internet, so I need games and entertainment that can be loaded and played on the machine without the need for Internet connectivity, make sense?

    So when you say -

    *wishes*
++AMD Phenom II X4 processor to upgrade the system

    I don't suppose you would like a Phenom II X4 965 would you?? :P

I just happened to win one at PDXLAN in Portland as a prize for my Wood Stove Case Mod. As much as I LUV it, I would part with it for a good cause. It was a prize sponsored by AMD/CPU Magazine/PDXLAN.

It is still in it's unopened box. I'm sure you know how amazing that little puppy is. 3.4 GHz right out of the box and lots of room to OC.

    Consider it yours. 8-)

    Bob -

That is INCREDIBLY humbling that you are willing to give that to the build. I don't know what to say....

"Thank you" just does not seem to cut it...

    8O 8O 8O

Amazing.... this kid is going to have a great machine that is going to last a good long time!
    THANK YOU!

I will PM you my address. Let me know how much it costs to ship and I will be more than happy to pay that cost for you.

    Sounds good.

I'll cover the shipping too. It can't be much.

    I hope you'll do a work log.

If nobody comes through for the fans I will include a couple Antec 120mm fans. I think they are clear.

Until then, I force this upon you --

I like to help out. What can I say.

One time while playing CS a kid was getting so frustrated because he had an old PC he scrapped together and it would only get 15 fps. I chatted with him in-game for a little and found he was supporting his mom and had no money so I sent him a whole PC. He thought I was kidding until it showed at his house in New York.

It made his day and then some..
