    Hard coatings...

I am in need of some super hard coatings/paints for a mod. I have looked around and just not sure what to look for.
I need something heavy duty that is chip/scratch resistant (or flat out wont chip/scratch).
I was thinking of an epoxy base or maybe ceramic and baked coating, much like powder coating, but more DIY.
Any ideas? Oh also needs to be available in Pink and black (ugh, don't ask)

Powder coating is the only way to go for a rock hard finish.

If it has to be paint then epoxy base is going to be your answer.

Other than that you would have to go to Powder Coating. Locally I had 7 pieces powder coated for a cooler master mod and it was only about $60 USD.

    Hard coatings...

There is a guy around here that will powdercoat a whole bike for 50 bucks. I bet I can get this case done for like 20. He does it out of his garage. I might go that route. But you say Epoxy based otherwise. Ok.
I seem to remember some sort of Epoxy clear coating that you can coat everything with a rock hard finish. I put some on the top of a desk I owned like 15 years ago. and it's still rock hard today. I just can't remember what it was or where I got it. It came in a quart sized paint can. With something like that I wouldn't be restricted to a certain color. I could go with any color then coat it in this stuff. It was really thick so would have to take the thickness and weight into consideration afterwards. It can be ground and sanded too.

If you dont need an uber custom color, powdercoating is the way to go.
