    King Edvard's Knight

A brief introduction about me: I am a PC modder and soon to be college student from Washington state. I am relatively new to modding, and to computers in general, but that hasn't stopped me from trying to build extremely ambitious builds and somehow fit them inside of my minuscule budget.

Recently, a pc that I built inside of a Sony boombox placed second in the Geforce Garage casemod contest at PDXLAN 32b. First place at that event went to Boddaker's Acromodic mod. The second place prizes were a GTX 1080ti and a full watercooling sponsorship from EK Waterblocks. The new parts and the general positive reception of the boombox led me to start on my current project: King Edvard's Knight.

I'm planning to have the build finished by PDXLAN Fall 2018 in November. As it stands right now, I have a prototype frame, the helmet, the sabatons, and the chestplate finished.

The frame was the first piece that I built, and it's sole purpose is to test the fitment of parts and armor. The final structure will probably be made of welded and/or bolted steel.

The helmet was next, and has been by far the most dificult part as of yet. The final part is cardboard covered in paper mache, then plaster, then more paper, then more plaster, then a layer of wood glue to hold the whole thing together, then aluminum spray paint and a red sheet metal cross.

Why didn't I make it out of metal? I didn't feel like trying to hammer all of the parts into the right shapes. in retrospect, that may have been the easier option.

The Sabatons were easier and it only took about a day to finish the pair.

King Edvard's Knight makes use of several types of armor, the first of which is classic plate armor.
