Whenever I looked at my case it was boring on the front end, (see thread http://www.modders-inc.com/ftopict-574-.html) mainly because I removed the vinyl flames. I instead made a new face plate a month or 2 ago and am just now getting to doing something with it, here is the cut out and completed face before the paint.
16ga SS sheet sheared, plasma cut out and, 50ton press brake job: $0 (little time though)
16ga SS mesh $0
I know pics already, first face raw
the mesh being held in place for looks
I just got through giving it a good coating in "etch primer" why etch primer? etch primer has acid in it that actually eats in to the metal to make excellent adhesion and is needed on SS and aluminum to make paint stick and not chip off. It can be found at auto parts stores for 5 bucks a can.
(the red was from the case not the face)
and a better shot
I just put a coat of case black hammered paint on the back of the face, I need more red for the mesh, I though I had some but, I forgot that I threw out the last can because of a sticking nozzle. So if by 8-9 o'clock (eastern US) I have not made a update bug the crap out of me to get new pics up of the finished product, I'm off to apply paint on the front.
