lol thats pretty good. anyway i used to be a dell customer back when i had my white dell with the p3 1.1 ghz any dells with the p2-p3 proccys were easy to service and very easy to upgrade. the only newer dell i have had was my halo dedicated server which was an early dell dimension 3200 desktop with 256 mb sd ram but i tend to stay away from dell because of their tendency to have extra crap ppl like me just dont want/need. :P

personally I would never by a Dell desktop. They have their uses for some, but for your modder / gamer / PC enthusiast they are a waste of money. Don't get me wrong Dell has some great deals at times, but their lack of upgradeability and overclockability leave much to be desired.

However, I do own a Dell notebook. I find that many notebooks tend to have proprietary parts and designs and see little reason not to grab a Dell in this regard. I really don't like all the Dell crap they add to the OS but with some fine tuning you can get rid of most of it. I was also dissapointed that Dell did not send me an OEM version of Xp with the notebook and instead suggest that I do a restore on it to factory presets. Yeah, I don't think so. I don't condone it, but I would rather put on a pirated version of Xp Pro and not register it and wait until the automatic updates work than to set it back to factory preset restore.

If you like Dell, all the power to you. I on the other hand would rather go out and purchase all of my parts seperately and only get the things I need, and spend the money on the things I feel are important in a desktop. Mind you I enjoy putting computers together and setting them up from just parts, it gives a small feeling of accomplishment and makes it your own.

That being said, Has anyone seen the new Dell Gaming PC? The XPS Renegade 600?

Intel P4 Presler Core, factory overclocked from 3.4GHZ to 4.26GHZ
2 - 150GB WD Raptors in striped RAID array
FOUR GPU's 2 - 512MB GeForce 7800GTX boards each attached to a GeForce 7800 GTX daughterboard running Quad SLI.

That doesn't look too shabby. And since nVidia made this GPU configuration exclusive to Dell it may very well make me think twice and decide to break my no Dell PC rule.

Yeah it does give you a little advantage because you see more real-estate than anyone else that hasn't got a wide screen for gaming not to mention the amount of windows you can spread around.
