    8800GTS Hiccups

So I have a 640MB card here that drops to like 10 fps when I have a big explosion in C&C: Yuri's Revenge. I thought this was like a great card that would let me avoid these hiccups. It reminds me of my 9800XT. Is there something I can do to optimize my 8800GTS's abilities? Maybe in the NVidia control panel or the BIOS. NO OVERCLOCKING!

    WHAT???
ok I'm a big fan of C&C RA2YR but this... ROFL XD
never heard of a problem like this, I can have everything on max on my 7300GT and works awesome..
    Maybe it's a software problem?
btw, if you don't wanna overclock, try underclocking :P

my game used to hiccup not with the same card but it could be bad drivers. Try upgrading or even downgrading them(if you can find the old drivers anywhere)

Agreed. It shouldn't have any hiccups

Maybe the game's too outdated for the card.

Not likely, never really seen a card not run a game smoothly because its good. :P My suggestion would be to play with the settings of the game a bit and maybe the graphics display settings in the software panel.

I downloaded the newest drivers that came out this month and then ran some tests with 3DMark06

I changed my Nvidia control panel from 'highest quality' to 'best performance' and scored more than 300 points better.

I then changed my image settings from 'Quality' to 'High Performance' and bumped my score up another 17 points.

The Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic filtering are set to 'Application Controlled'. Is there anything else I should look for before I try my game again?

Yours scores seem to be right where mine are; I have the 320Mb version.

I see your CPU score is a bit higher than mine. You using and AMD chip?
