Yes it is. The first one was for Cooler Master for this years CES.

It is kind of tricky to do as each case is laid out different, but I want to come up with a universal way of doing it as I like the way it looks.

But this time both doors will tilt forward and the next one will be motorized

While I am here I might as well post some more images.

here is the metal pieces of the wing mocked up

I got everything where I want it so it is time to make the holes for the pop rivets.

To add a bit more detail to the wing I put in holes along the struts. The bit that I am using is a multi step drill bit and is a must have for anyone. With a basic set of three it can replace a whole drawer full of drill bits.

With all the holes drilled it is time to sand it a get ready for painting

Ok I thought the sides looked a bit plan and wanted to try incorporate another bit of Drift car style, so this is what I can up with.

    Out of the box

and placed on the side panel

While I had them laid out on the panel I figured I would made an template and line it up to make some mounting holes.

Time to strip them of the mounting tape and screens

Well these are just to shinny so out come the palm sander again and in no time its is ready for primer.

Primed up and mounted...soon they will get painted

I will give you a sneak peek on how I want to paint the whole case. I did some practice pieces and here is my first try. There is more to do to get the carbon fiber look, but this is where you have to start.

SHHH...man that was suppose to be a secret!

Lets see... if you remember what I want to do is leave the case its stock black color but create a carbon fiber look on it.

Believe it or not it some what rather easy to do so with just a couple colors of paint and some kitchen cabinet shelving rubber mat. I was able to get this at my local Target for under five dollars.

What you do is take some silver paint and spray it through the mat to create the silver cubes on to the surface. I highly suggest you practice a bit before you attach your case. Here is one of my practice test.

I will be doing the wing first...

Makes sure that the mat is laid flat and rather tight over what you want to paint

Spray the silver. I can tell you that a little of the silver goes along ways so you will need to just kind of mist the paint over it.

Here is mine and you can see that it was a bit heavy on the silver BUT one of the cool things about this process of painting is that you take flat black spray paint and once again spray a mist or haze of the silver and it cuts down the over powering silver to an almost fiber look.

The top piece has not been hit with the mist of flat black like the bottom piece. You can see the difference.

The rest of the wing pieces with a haze of flat black over it.

Next onto a side panel. The rubber was just the right width to cover the side panels.

I used small clamps to hold the material to the panel

    First the silver...

    Then the black...

Again you can see how the effect works.

The side panels done...just wait till you see the clear on it an you will REALLY see the carbon fiber effect come to life!

Next up we move onto the rest of the case...

Here is shot showing that the top of the case needs to be painted like the rest.

Because it is curved I had to really make sure that the matting stayed in place for the painting.

After the silver has been sprayed

And now back on the case...it came out rather close even though it was painted at different times.

I also did the carbon fiber effect painting on the rear of the case, the motherboard tray, the back of the side panels and any other place I thought it might get seen with the doors opened or closed.

Next the painting of the tribal style flames start!
