AF, I would like to know how you made the side doors and where you located the hardware to close the doors and secure them when closed. Happy Modding to ya.

I made the panels out of Aluminum sheets. I first made a template of the size and shape I wanted then I cut some angles out of the corners to allow me to bend the edges to get the raise door effect. I transfered the template to the aluminum, bent the edges, and got the results I wanted.

I then cut some pieces to place on the top of the door to give them more detail. I used some pro-proxy to attach them to the door. The hinges are just your standard hinges, but I removed the pins and inserted quick release pins so that the doors could be removed. The latch is again just a standard latch I think they might be called a suitcase latch or box latch.

All the hardware was found at a local Home Depot.

I am trying to find the pictures I took, but for some reason I can't find them. I know I had a few that got saved.

Thanks so much for the info. I'm thinking about doing something on that order for a Christmas present to my son-in-law. I'll be coming back to this posting more than once that's for sure. Happy Modding to ya.

WOW did I get lucky! I found some pictures I had taken durning the build on my SD for my camera at work so I have some to share on how the doors came about.

    I made the paper template

    Cut the aluminum

Bent the edges over with a mallet

and the final results of the hammering

Painted with out the door latches installed

Here is the hinges with the pins that can be removed so the whole door can come off.
Notice how it look worn and beaten? Thats was the hard part of the case,
making it look used without making it look fake.

    The latches...

I took a Cooler Master fan controller and mounted it vertical with two handles that I bent to
    protect the controller

    From the door side.
