XFX 7600 GT Fatal1ty 256MB RoHS 650 MHz

 Description:

The 7600 line of video cards has proven to be one of the sweet spots in affordable video cards. XFX recently took the 7600 GT to a new level by introducing the fastest factory clocked 7600 GT video card yet. They teamed up with Fatal1ty to create this XFX 7600 GT Fatal1ty Professional Series card. There are several companies that have done this in the past like Abit, Creative, and Zalman. The XFX 7600 GT Fatal1ty card comes in with a 650Mhz core clock, and a 1.6 Ghz memory clock straight out of the box.

 First Impression:

Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel is well known in the gaming community. He has made his “Professional Gamer” reputation for himself by participating in the CPL (Cyber Athlete Professional League) and through numerous international competition victories. Jonathan is one of the most talked about and recognized gamers in the world. The "Fatal1ty" brand name is also well know in the enthusiast market, ranging from motherboards, coolers, sound cards, and now video cards.

The XFX series of video cards that are running under the Fatal1ty name are geared toward the midrange PC gamer market. The XFX 7600 GT Fatal1ty Professional Series card is designed with a few significant changes compared to other cards based on the same GPU. XFX has two cards in this series, currently. The first one out boasts a 650 Mhz core clock, while the reference nVidia card runs at 560 Mhz, while also running 200 Mhz faster on the memory clock at 1.6 Ghz, compared to the reference nVidia card runs at 1.4 Ghz. The first card in the series also utilizes passive cooling, which will make for silent operation. The second card in the line utilizes the same cooling, but comes in at the stock nVidia clocks on the core and memory.

XFX has been pouring it on strong when it comes to factory-overclocked cards. They are one of the most aggressive and most active companies to push the cards to their limits, and back them completely while doing so. One thing to keep in mind with this video card is case cooling. If your running a rig that tends to run a little warm, you will want to make sure you have adequate airflow in the case to offer the XFX 7600 GT Fatal1ty card enough air to be cooled properly. This goes for any passive cooled video card, of course.

The packaging on the XFX 7600 GT Fatal1ty Professional Series card shows off the Fatal1ty logo and a picture of Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel on the front, while listing off some of the features and specifications on the back of the box. There is also a window to show off part of the heatsink and logo on the card itself.

Opening the inner box will show that the card is well protected inside, with foam padding surrounding the video card. There should be minimal chance for this card to get damaged in shipment.

Here, we have a shot showing everything that comes with the XFX 7600 GT. Top left is the video card itself, followed by the S-Video cable and DVI adaptor. The lower side is the driver CD and instruction pamphlets to show the correct installation.
