Gladiator Mid-Tower Case

Sponsor: Ultra Products

Price: $79.99 @ TigerDirect

Author: Tazz

Published: Fri, May-11-2007

 Description:

Today we are going to be taking a look at one of Ultra Products newest cases, the Gladiator. The Gladiator is a mid tower case that supports AT, baby AT, ATX, and micro ATX motherboards. The case is constructed of 1mm thick high grade steel and has a total of 10 drive bays. The Gladiator also utilizes several Tool-less features from the 5 ¼ inch drive bays to the PCI slots. The Gladiator even includes an Intel TAC compliant CPU duct and VGA vent.

 First Impression:

When the Gladiator made its way to the front door I was a little concerned because the box showed signs of some wear and tear. Luckily, this was only cosmetic damage to the packaging itself. The box shows several high resolution pictures of the Gladiator case, while listing its features and specifications as well.

The Gladiator comes double bagged to prevent the finish and Plexiglas from being scratched if something was to penetrate the outer packaging. It has two large foam end caps to keep it centered in the box offering extra room just in case something does happen.

Once the protective bags are removed, we get our first glance at the Gladiator. The front panel and the side window come with yet another protective covering on them to prevent any defects from handling and packaging the case. The Gladiator mid-tower ATX case has two of the prominent features that have become common on Ultra Products cases, the Intel TAC compliant CPU air duct and VGA vent for better cooling.

The finish on the Gladiator is not a 100% gloss finish, but as you can see in the picture, it does look pretty good. This mid-tower case is built of 1mm steel with an aluminum front cover design. It comes with a larger window, which has the pre-installed CPU air duct and VGA vent. It can accept two 120mm fans (1 intake and 1 exhaust). The Gladiator has four external 5 and ¼ inch and one external 3 and ½ inch drive bays, nicely tucked away behind the top hinged door. It can hold up to five internal 3 and ½ inch drives and has several Tool-less features built in.
