Vantec EZ-Swap EX

Sponsor: Vantec

Price: $36.99

 Description:

Mobility.... It means a lot to some people. With the advances in todays electronics we can carry a powerful computer everywhere we go. We can carry gigabytes of data on something the size of a fingernail. This truly is a digital age and with the need for mobility comes products that are ultra mobile. Enter the Vantec EZ-Swap EX portable hard drive enclosure. Vantec really pulled no punches when they produced this device. Not only does this lil puppy go anywhere you want it to (with a USB port), when you get home you can pop it into your desktop PC and have all of your data at even faster than USB 2.0 speeds! Lets take a closer look and see just what makes up this little beauty from our friends at Vantec.

 First Impression:

The Vantec EZ-Swap EX packaging is in full color and gives all the info about product in detail, which is very nice. On the back you will find the full list of specifications as well as product features and a short description. The layout of the images and text on the package is very easy to read and understand and gives you a very good feel for the product within.

Features:

  • Easily Add Storage to your PC via Internal or External Connection
  • Compatible with 2.5” IDE Hard Drive
  • Connect via SATA (Internal) interface or via USB (External) interface on the go
  • Fits In Any Standard 5.25” or 3.5” Drive Bay (Internal)
  • Aluminum Casing Cools Down Your Hard Drive
  • Anti-Dust Cover
  • LED Indicators for Power & HDD Activity

Getting the package open you will find everything is neatly packed with the first thing being the manual. Skimming my way through the manual it is very well laid out and has very clear instruction on installing and operating the device but like most people it ended up back in the box before I really read anything.

Delving further into the box you will find the goodies all securely wrapped in plastic. Firstly coming to the drive enclosure itself and further in you will fine the mounting bracket, internal insertion rack, cables, hardware, and carrying case. You will find that the provided hardware and cabled will allow for a proper installation in most cases.
