VIA EPIA MII 12000

 Description:

Are you considering building an HTPC but do not want a full size PC in your living room?  Maybe the following has ran through your head... "If I could  put a PC into that it would be freaking outrageous!" Well you may just be in luck, at a compact size of 6.75"(w) x 6.75"(d) x 1.5"(h) the VIA EPIA MII 12000 could just make all your custom PC dreams come true. This tiny mother board has every thing imaginable onboard, from the embedded CPU to an MPEG-2 Accelerator, the MII 12000 is a feature rich and versatile product.

 First Impression:

The first thing you will notice is the small size of the box. After all these years of working with full size mother boards it just strikes you funny when you see it for the first time. It's just so small. It appears that VIA uses the same box for all their products. They just add a sticker here and there to help identify each model. This box had a sticker on the front left hand side that included the model, serial, and part number of the board. Do yourself a favor and head over to their site and do your home work. On VIA's site you can get all the information you need to make sure you know what you want and/or need.

Inside the tiny box you get a booklet, Driver CD, face plate, IDE cables, and of course the mother board. What I did not find in the box was the manual. Maybe it's on the CD?

So just how small is the all-in-one mother board? Look at the picture below. I placed the driver install CD in the middle of the board. The CD is 4.75 inches (12cm) across. The board itself is only 6.75 inches (17cm) square. Man, is that small or what!?!
