The Logitech G3 Laser Mouse's compact, ambidextrous design encourages a fingertip grip, which many gamers prefer to make quicker and bolder movements using their wrist. The G3 mouse includes the same powerful mouse engine as the Logitech G5 and G7 mice and 2,000 dpi resolution. In addition, the G3 has the Logitech DryGrip surface, which helps gamers comfortably maintain a secure grip during marathon gaming sessions.
First Impression:
When I first was told I was going to review the new G3 gaming mouse from Logitech I was very excited. I have owned almost exclusively Logitech mice since I got a hold of a mouse man many years ago. I loved the feel and the responsiveness of the mouse. The whole MX line as well as the new G line continued with the same ergonomic feel coupled with great responsiveness and precision. So when I opened up the new G3 I was very surprised to find they had gone a whole different direction with the design of the mouse.
It seems that the G3 laser mouse was designed to be usable by either a lefty or righty. The design is completely ambidextrous and from either side the mouse shape is exactly the same. Your standard two mouse button setup with scroll wheel in the center and then two "thumb" buttons on either side. Very Razor-like if I could be so bold. I wasn't sure what to make of it's new design. Nothing to do now but try it out and take a closer look at what it can do.
