Ultra XL Dual Channel 1024MB PC3200 Memory

Sponsor: Ultra Products

Price: 119.99 @ TigerDirect

Author: Tazz

Published: Tue, Sep-26-2006

 Description:

Ultra sent over one of their 1024MB kits of their DDR XL memory for us to check out. With the claim of "Extreme Low Latency No Matter What!!".  A bold claim that we will definitely test to see if these DDR XL memory modules are up to the challenge. Ultra rates the XL series at 2-2-2-5 @ 400MHz Front Side Bus speed. The XL memory is also has a nice look with the Gold heat spreaders to help control the modules temperature.

 First Impression:

The Ultra XL Dual Channel DDR memory modules come packaged in a clear blister pack. Listed on the front is the size, speed, and quantity.

On the backside of the package you will see the two memory modules and behind those you will see the Limited Lifetime Warranty listed.  This seems like your standared blister pack and memory package, however I was impressed with the limited lifetime warranty.

"Extreme High Performance PC3200 Memory
Delivers Extreme Low Latency No Matter What!!"

"An overclocker's dream come true! Our Extreme Performance memory performs with incomparable, uncompromising reliability no matter how much you tweak your system. Featuring extreme low latency at 400MHz front side bus and an innovative high-performance aluminum heat spreader to reduce thermal buildup; Ultra's XL memory offers the most consistent low latency in the industry - latency that will not rise regardless of how much extreme power your system requires. Overclock in complete confidence with Ultra's incredible XL memory."
