In the beginning post, I mentioned about the template. It will be modders mesh. one piece, with a vertical drive behind it.
Cheers! |

Thanks AF. Real thanks goes to Bill Owen from MNPCTech and the CPU mag I purchased last month. It inpired me to google search for new cases and the ones that did have a vertical drive besides the R4 were really ugly!
Once I drill out the rivets on the top panel and remove the drive bays, I will prime up the chassis.

I just wanted to post up this pic. It will be the new I/O ports on the front of the case.
It has a little something of everything on it and would be a nice addition to the mod. |

I finished up the paint job on the CD-Rom housing and these are the results of days of work.
Modders Mesh will be the anodized red as the other parts were shown in earlier post.
Recycled the logo from the case and will attach it to the mesh afterwards.
Black CD-Rom drive with a anodized red part for contrast.
Updates soon. |

Keeping with tradition, here is some new pics.
I mapped out the modders mesh with the paper template I had using a paint marker and putting in where the folds need to be.
Here's how the Coolermaster 590 case looks without the front bezel and drive trays.
Now plenty of room for the vertical HDD enclosure to move up and down. Plus this gives the option for a water cooler setup in the future if I choose.
More updates on Saturday. Have to work the rest of the week.
Cheers! |

Okay before I went to work I was itching to get the bezel modded so when the new I/O multipanel comes in I would be ready.
Well my cordless dremel just wasn't up to the task at hand (even with a full battery) so I opted for something with a little more umph!
I call this my BFD (Big *&#$ Drill), Yes that is a cutting wheel on the end of it. It has variable speed so depending on how much I apply pressure to the trigger, depends on the RPM's of the drill.
Working like a surgeon, I carefully started my cutting.
The results were really good. A little finish work and it will be ready for the I/O multipanel. I have to finish up the cutting, but it's getting there.
Just wait until I use an old desktop case (Intel Pent. I inside) as a bending platform for the modders mesh...lol
Unless someone knows links to a bender for under $40 USD?
Cheers |

For those who ARE 18 and up (points at member Fluffy)
590 Coolermaster case completely stripped down. Top panel riveted on, need to remove it before painting chassis.

Back to the topic...lol
Okay bezel 99% completed for cutting work. Just have to sand down a few areas and it will be ready for the modders mesh.
Just some light sanding to be done. (Don't know why it looks uneven at the top of the cut but the closeup is a better look).
Closeup look at the final cutting job.
