There seems to be some sort of confusion about all the items stated in the rules here and on the NVIDIA site.
The rules are really basic and are as follows
#1 Sorry, but YES it is only US and CANADA only.
THIS CONTEST IS VOID WHERE RESTRICTED OR PROHIBITED BY LAW. OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (EXCLUDING PUERTO RICO AND ITS OTHER TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS) AND CANADA (EXCLUDING QUEBEC).
#2 You are NOT making the case mod; a Pro Modder will be making the case mod.
#3 You suggest an idea on how you would like a case modded for the ZOTAC ION Board. A description about your idea and an image MUST be included in your idea post. Plain and simple ...No image, no description, no valid entry.
#4 You can submit as many ideas as you like BUT only 1 (one) will be chosen to make it in to the top 30.
#5 Like type case mods submitted will be judged on their own merits.
#6 The $500 limit is set to show that a cool looking PC can be made with very little money and that it is used to MAKE the case.
#7 The FREEBIES from sponsors DO NOT go against the cost of the case mod build. (FREEBIES listed below)
#8 From the top 30 ideas 5 (Five) will be picked for the Pro Modders to build. The top 30 ideas win a one year subscription to CPU Magazine!
#9 The case mods that the Pro Modders make will compete against each other and a winner will be picked from the 5 (five) case mods.
#10 The Pro modded case that is picked as the best is the winner and the person who created the idea for the modded case will receive the case that was made by the Pro Modder.
#11 The cases that come in 2nd,3rd,4th, and 5th are kept by the modders (that is their prize for participating). The people who suggested the ideas on which the case mods where made from will win some great prizes which include a ZOTAC ION ITX 230 motherboard, Sims 3 PC edition, and 1400 Battle Funds to spend in Battlefield Heroes!
This is what the case modders have to do...
5 professional case modders have each been tasked with building a revolutionary ION-based PC based on YOUR ideas. They will receive a ZOTAC ION ITX 330 motherboard containing an NVIDIA ION GPU and an Intel Atom dual-core CPU, along with $500 to secure additional PC components. They will have 60 days to create the final builds, which should reflect the key features of ION; small, low-power PCs with surprisingly powerful graphics.
Final mods (made by the professional case modders) will be judged and ranked using 3 factors:
1. Overall design (10 points)
2. Creativity (10 points)
3. Reflection of ION features (10 points)
Here is what you have to do...
-Submit a description and image of your dream PC to enter. If your idea is selected, you win!
-Grand prize winner wins their dream PC built by a professional modder!
-4 semi-finalists win a ZOTAC ION ITX 230 motherboard, Sims 3 PC edition, and 1400 Battle Funds to spend in Battlefield Heroes!
Top 30 ideas win a one year subscription to CPU Magazine!
These items DO NOT count as part of the build cost!
ITX ION MOTHERBOARD
MEMORY
SSD Drives
WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM
30 Subscriptions and $1,500 USD to the winning Pro Modder

I'm a us resident stationed in Italy, I have an APO address witch is a US address. Shipping to an APO is no different then sending something to New York. It says nothing about BEING in the States.... If you wan a local mailing address I got plenty of family... Being in the millitary I get payed according to my home state witch is Washington...
Also it says NOTHING about 2 ideas that would be close and the later on being DQed... so its up to the professional witch one they may like to do more?

I understand that my question is inconsequential for the mod suggestion community and only really applies to the modders themselves, but I would like to know what the winning modder of the competition (in terms of the modder, not the suggester) wins. Places 2-5 get to keep the mod they built, but the winner does not?!?
Likewise, the winner of the mod (as per the person who suggested the winning mod), I'm guessing, will yield his identity to being in various publications advertising the capabilities of the board through the use of the mod's image and the owner's image. I really don't mind about this, but it might be important to note this, as this is an advertising stunt (in all honesty).
Thanks for a great contest, and I look forward to a wide variety of different styles and demonstration of the advantages of the Zotac ION board. Kudos. |

The winner (1st Place) Will have his design chosen and built by the builders, then the winner gets to keep his/her design. the first 4 runner ups get that bundle of the Mobo, Sims 3, and some in game cash thing for the new battlefield game. The rest of the total 20 winners get free subscriptions to the CPU magazine, which will also announce the winner publicly in December. |

I always found that bit odd. What would we do with that cash without the game? I'd say it should have included the battlefield game but whatever. I suppose its why we get the DE board with no psu lol |

The winning modder gets featured in CPU magazine, here, and I am thinking the NVIDIA ION mod site. Plus he get $1500 USD from CPU Mag.
Plus he get crowned the "KING OF THE MODDING WORLD"...lol

True BUT we (Modders-Inc) hope that this will help light the fire that most of you have out there to do your own mods. It is really not that hard and once you start one you will find out just how fun it is! Andif you have any questions or want to show it off there is no better place than Modders-Inc.....how was that for a commercial?...lol |

he was asking what the moder of the 1st place winner get.. NOT the idea submitter.. as the 4 modders of the losing ones.. aka 2-5th place.. the modders themselvs get to keep the computers they worked so hard to build.. the winning idea modder though.. worked just as hard on his bild.. has to turn it over to the idea person.. leaving that modder with nothing.. so the guy was asking being the winning mod builder has to give up the computer to the idea person.. what does the modder himself in 1st place get as collateral |
