There comes a day that most of have to face a fear that we have and the quickest way to do that is by doing it. One of those fears that seem to be out there in full force in the land of computers is the tangle web of wires and cables inside our PC's.
Topics that I am planning to cover * What an LED is and how it works * How to connect single/multiple LEDs to a computer power supply. * How to write basic programs for the Arduino micro-controller (abbreviated as "µC") * How to control large clusters/strings of LEDs with the Arduino safely. * How to dim/fade LEDs (with the µC) * How to read button inputs to the µC. * How to read "analog" inputs from the µC (dimmer switch, speed control, etc)
Our friend Bill at MNPCTECH.com has some really great videos out the about painting your case to get that finished look for you case mod. Bill has allowed us to show them here so there will be a collection of his and others in this section.
So you want to learn how to sleeve your PC. Well then you came to the right place as we are gathering up a series of video's for a fellow modder(s) that have some great tips and tricks for you. Check them out!
OK, so I’ve decided I’m going to make my version of a spray painting guide, before I start I’d like to thank em3bilko as without his help, I
would not be able to spray paint how I can, anyway back to the guide.
This How-To is a simple modification that can be done to the Silverstone FT01 Chassis to correct the filter issue on the top intake fan. As most reviewers have noticed while reviewing the chassis, removing the top filter without having to remove anything else is impossible. The stock filter mount requires the filter to be slid forward to be removed. Well the Front Panel I/O ports and their wires are in the direct path of the filter, which means it will not slide out enough to allow the user to remove it. This modification eliminates that problem in no time at all.
Got a messy tool drawer full of screw drivers and other small tools you use when working on your computers while modding or building? Ever wish your screw drivers would either stay magnetic or at least be slightly magnetic? I just may have a solution for you that will take care of both problems at one time. :)
Today our local modder EM3Bilko, walks us through the tools needed and processes that he does to get a LCD Character screen working. Me on the other hand, I always tend to lean toward the screens that have a USB connection, which allows for a quick and easy installation... Ok you can call me lazy... Lets see how EM3Bilko does it though.
Here’s a simple tutorial explaining how to build
your own round cables. While rounded cables are not real expensive they are not
always in the length, color or style that you want.
This is something that not a lot of people want to take the time to do. I have seen some pretty nasty keyboards over the years. Just think how many germs are on that crusty keyboard of yours. Well in this guide I will show an example of how to properly take apart your keyboard and clean it. I know this will not match all keyboards, but the idea is the same for all.
