Normally we don't run a 2 for 1 special but today is your lucky day. We are taking a look at the Bulgin Switch Plate from
MNPCTech. We would not be doing the switch plate any justice if we didn't toss in a couple of Vandal Resistant Switches. So we are reviewing both of them at the same time, seeing that they go hand in hand.
Here we have both the Vandal switches and the Bulgin switch plate as they arrived. The switches are sealed in bags to keep the screws and nut with the switch. The Bulgin switch plate is shrink wrapped with the mounting accessories packed in a zip lock bag on the back side.
Flipping the Bulgin switch plate over we will see that MNPCTech provides four machine screws and four nuts to mount the switch plate with. Normally when dealing with bolt on accessories I find that the consumer is left up to handling the mounting options on their own. MNPCTech wants you to have everything you need, which is why they are included with the product.
The MNPCTech Bulgin switch plate is made of 6061billet aluminum, while having a machined finish. The switch plate is 3 and 7/16 of an inch long, 1 and 15/16 of an inch tall, and is 1/4 of an inch thick. The billet aluminum offers the user a couple of options depending on the style of computer they are building. You can run with the machined look that the switch plate has from the start or you can take it a step further and polish the aluminum giving it a mirror like finish.
The Vandal Resistant switch is a SPST (Single Pole, Single Throw) momentary switch. The switch is normally opened and closes (completes the circuit) when the button is pushed and returns to its opened state once the button is released.
The Vandal Resistant switch is made of nickel plated brass and is roughly 7/8 of an inch by 1 inch in size. It requires a 3/4 of an inch mounting hole. It has two terminals on the rear side that utilize two screws for securing the wires to the switch.
