Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler

Sponsor: Noctua

Price: 65.00 ish

Author: Tazz

Published: Thu, May-01-2008

 Description:

Today we are going to take a look at the latest offering from Noctua in CPU cooling. The NH-U12P is the newer version of the NH-U12 that we reviews a little while back. It has the same basic features as the NH-U12F, but is paired with the new Noctua NF-P12 120mm fan. So while we are testing the NH-U12P we will bring back the NH-U12F for a comparison.

 First Impression:

The Noctua NH-U12P CPU cooler comes packed in similar packaging to what we have seen with the other Noctua products we have reviewed. From the front you can get a glimpse of NF-P12 fan that is supplied along with the main features. On the top of the box you will find the Cooler and Fan specifications.

Opening up the box you will find the fan and cooler packed in another form fitting box with a second box housing the mounting accessories and instructions. On the right side we have the hardware pulled out of its box. We can see that Noctua has everything neatly bagged together for the appropriate socket types.

Here we have a full shot of the massive cooler and fan setup. The Noctua NH-U12P utilizes 4 dual heat pipe design, which looks to closely match the older NH-U12F design. The NH-U12P has one less fine and is slightly taller than the older counterpart. Like the NH-U12F, the NH-U12P offers a large cooling surface compared to most other coolers.
