 Description:

You finally have that killer gaming rig you have been dreaming of, Cool! Well, maybe not literally, but with the addition of a few more fans it should cool the temps down when under combat conditions. Problem is how do you control all of those fans, I mean geesh the noise they will make if they run wide open continuously could be deafening. lol ... Awwh, a fan controller you say? Yep, many of those on the market today, but which one would work for you? That you will have to decide for yourself. however, today we will be taking a closer look at a new one on the market, the Lamptron FAN-ATIC 5-port Military Switch Baybus fan controller.

 First Impression:

It seems that modding must be becoming more popular. Why would I say that you ask, well ... it's quite simple really, you see more and more companies are springing up that either produce or carry modding accessories. Case in point, Lamptron Electronics, Lamptron could be considered the new kid on the block, as they have only been kicking out the cool modding accessories for a short time now.

On to the review ...

The Lamptron ‘FAN-ATIC’ 5-port Military Switch Baybus arrived at my house double boxed, first in a plain brown card board box and on the inside was a rather nice looking retail shrink-wrapped package, that evidently serves as a dual purpose package as it also shows the other version of their fan bus Tazz is reviewing, the "Hummer" 5-port Military Switch Baybus.

This side of the retail package shows the Lamptron ‘FAN-ATIC’. ***However, I must make a note here right from the start, since receiving the ‘FAN-ATIC’ I have been informed that it does not control the advertised 100Watts per channel you see printed on the above box, but 60Watts per channel instead. This has been both confirmed by Lamptron and the appropriate measures taken to correct the info printed on the boxes and advertised.

The back of the box shows the Hummer 5-port Military Switch Baybus, ... it too looks very cool.

As you can see above each end of the box has the features and specifications of each unit. On the left you can see that the "FAN-ATIC" was marked as the unit in this box and in the silver bezel color.

Finally looking to the top of the box we get a very nice looking piece of hardware that awaits us inside the box. I must say, it is looking good!. :)
