Sure, everyone would love to go out and purchase the latest and greatest motherboard on the market. However, not everyone can afford to spend 200 - 300+ on a motherboard. There are many users out there that have no need for boards that offer great overclocking potential, RAID support, multiple PCI-E slots and so forth. This is where companies like Elitegroup (ECS) come into play with their budget minded boards. Today we are going to be taking a look at one of those products, the ECS P43T-A2 V1.0. This is essentially a stripped down version of the P45T-A. Lets dig in and see how the P43T does.
First Impression:
The ECS P43T comes in a fairly plain box listing the main features of the board. The P43T board features Intel P43 and ICH10 chipsets, which also supports a FSB of 1333MHz and DDR2 800. This should provide the budget builder with a stable platform to build that budget system off of.
Cracking the box open, we see there are only a few items included with the P43T motherboard (1x SATA cable, 1x IDE cable, 1x PCI I/O plate, Manual, Quick Install Guide, and Software Disc). If your planning on maxing out the SATA, and USB connections, you will want to make sure you have enough extra cables.
