Jetway IPC Board NF94-270-LF Mini ITX motherboard

 Description:

Modders-Inc is taking a look at another fine motherboard from Jetway. Currently they are offering some of the best all-in-one mini ITX motherboards. Jetway is packing all sorts of goodies into a very small form factor that is highly suitable for a Home Theater PC or for a space saving desktop.

 First Impression:

I do not know if you have noticed or not but there has been a trend to downsize the PC's we use everyday. Netbooks are the biggest current trend and following close behind is the smaller, everyday usage, PC that can take up less space and use less power. We all now that scaling down your PC will also limit what you can expect from it performance wise. Jetway is hoping that more consumers will be going this way and have many Mini ITX motherboards to help you pick the right one for your wants and needs. In this review we will looking at their Mini ITX NF94-270-LF board.

With more and more people looking to go green this means that you will be looking for hardware that has less effects on the environment. Jetway is trying to help out everyone with small form factor motherboards that use less resources and consumes less energy. They have made sure that the NF94 has been RoHS Certified.

There is not a lot of information on the box itself, but I will try to give you all the information possible during the review. If you happen to want more information about the product or others they offer you can go to their website.

Stuffed inside the super small box is everything that you need to setup the NF94.

You get yourself the driver install CD, I/O Plate,  2 SATA cables, 1 IDE flat cable, RBG, and the manual.

A closer look at a video port connection that Jetway included reveals that that you can also use S-Video and a Red-Blue-Green (RBG) composite connections. As you will see later on in the review, with this included I/O setup you will have many different possibilities to connect the Jetway NF94 motherboard to a video output.

i''m dual booting one of these boards, win xp/Ubuntu, 500GB hd 3 way partitioned as ntfs/winxp, ext4/ubuntu9.10 and common ntfs,   I''m really happy to have a small, quiet pc in my sitting room! I''d now like to add a second monitor, (the two video outlets on the board only replicate each other). Can you recommend a second, silent vga card that I could add, AND that I could get working under Ubuntu?

I don''t need high speed etc, just want to write web pages on one screen and view the result in firefox on the other.

Thanks!
