Today we are going to take a look at the Logitech G7 mouse. With the introduction of laser technology mice have been making leaps forward in the gaming side of things. The MX1000 was one of first to show in the market, it carried over part of the unique look and feel of the earlier cordless optical versions (MX700 and MX900). I have been using Logitech Cordless mice since the late 90s. I have not owned everyone they offered, but have collected about 6 or 7 versions of their cordless mice. I have not owned a corded mouse since 1998. My wife and kid still use one on their system but I personally do not plan on going back to what I feel is the "ball and chain" scenario. There is nothing more I hate than having the cord get caught when I am trying to do something.
First Impression:
Logitech has no problems in making a good first impression with its customers. Logitech products always look appealing to the eye and offer a great set of features to back up the looks.
How can you not like that?
The G7 offers an high resolution laser engine handles images at an astounding 6.4 megapixels per second. A sensor array (30-pixel by 30-pixel) and precision laser technology allow it to deliver precise performance and tracking. With the access to the three preset sensitivity levels (400, 800, and 2000 dpi) you can easily and quickly switch between them in-game with out hesitation (after driver installation you have 5 settings). With the sensitivity/batter level gauge you always know what setting your on and how much time you have left on the battery.
The G7 is 4X faster than conventional mice, USB delivers increased speed and instant acceleration. With the 2.4 GHz wireless connection the G7 takes any mouse lag out of the picture. When it comes time to change batteries, the process only takes a few seconds and your right back into gaming (should the batter go dead while in game). In the default gaming mode, the battery life could last up to two and a half days for average game play (based on 4 hours of game play a day). The G7 also offers incredibly smooth action, with the three large polytetrafluoroethylene feet.
