Inside the Sapphire HD 4830's alluring outer packaging we find the inner box containing the HD 4830 and accessories. The Sapphire HD 4830 is wrapped in a thick bubble wrap type static free bag to help keep it from any damage.
Once removed from the inner box, we get our first look at the Sapphire HD 4830, along with it's included accessories. One thing you will notice from the start, is that being a budget oriented card the accessory bundle is rather sparse compared to Sapphire's higher end cards. However, it has just what you need and in most cases more than you need to get you started gaming or connected to your HD TV.
Incuded Accessories:
- Quick Installation Guide
- Driver CD
- DVI-to-VGA adapter
- DVI-to-HDMI adapter
- Composite cable adapter
- RCA video barrel adaptor
- 4-pin molex to
6-pin PCI-E power adapter
- "Fueled by Sapphire" case badge/decal
Sapphire used it's on heatsink on the HD 4830 instead of the AMD referenced heatsink. Though the card will use only one expansion slot, the cooler is a dual slot type cooler. In the next picture you can see that if it were covered all the way to the expansion slot area it would indeed take two expansion slots. Wowzers!! ... Now that's a serious cooler for a single slot card. (Yes, the black and chrome fan shroud is plastic, but the rest is aluminum and large.)
Two dual-link DVIs and a TV out, both are capable of passing a signal
out to a HDTV ~ Your choice depending on your setup, HDMI or
Component. Also, like the other R600/700 graphics
cards, you have 7.1 channel audio support when using the included HDMI. (Note the thickness of the cooler.)
On the back side of the card you can see the four screws needed to hold the rather large heatsink on. You know, for some odd reason this heatsink reminds me a lot of an intel heatsink. lol You can also see the CrossFireX connector at the top of the card well in this picture. (Surprisingly there was not CrossFireX bridge included in the box ... hmmm.)
