NZXT Lexa Classic Series

 Description:

The Lexa from NZXT stands out against most cases. It's futuristic looks and styling give the case a modern look that is sure to turn heads.

 First Impression:

The Lexa arrived in a huge box; just looking at it, I thought it weighed a good 100 lbs. I was surprised when I picked it up, though, as it was a rather light box for being so big. The case, being made mostly of light weight aluminum and plastic, helps keep the weight down. The box is designed with a black and white styling, and conveniently lists the specifications for the case.

I cut the clear tape on top of the box and unfolded the top flaps. The case appeared to have sufficient protection, seated in soft foam inside the box, and wrapped in a clear plastic bag.

After taking the case out of the box and plastic bag, however, I noticed some scratches in the plastic window and on the edge of the front cover. The case I was sent to review appears to be a returned item. The person that returned it did not secure the wiring inside the case, which caused the wires to scratch the plastic window. The case not being new also leaves me wondering how well it's packed or if it came with any extras. Since I must show the condition and included items in my review, the case not being new does not help the review any. So, please keep in mind that a new case should not arrive in the condition this one did.

The front drive bay covers also were scratched. There is no way for this to happen during shipment, since the door will not open inside the box. The last picture shows the only piece that had protective film on it -- the the handle with the NZXT logo. I would guess that the window and front of the case comes with protective film when shipped from the factory.

Other than the scratches, it appears that the key for the door was not included, the case bag for carrying it was missing, and no screws or standoffs to install the motherboard were included.

The drive rails are included for screwless installation. They are all black plastic and have chromed pegs or inserts to fit the drive holes.
