 Description:

CPU cooling is one of the most important areas a PC user must look at when building a computer. Whether this be a Gaming Rig or a Desktop computer, you want to keep your CPU as cool as you possibly can. Today we are going to look at the OCZ Vanquisher. OCZ has combined an efficient heatpipe design with a low speed fan to offer a quiet yet effective cooler option for users that does not require the use of a back plate to mount. Lets take a closer look at the OCZ Vanquisher.

 First Impression:

The OCZ Vanquisher comes in a blue and white box that  gives you more of a mechanical or tech feel. It's not as flashy as other manufactures products, but none the less it still serves the purpose. On the sides of the box you will find the Key Features, Specifications, and Application information. This will easily answer any questions that you might have if your buying this off the shelf in a store.

After removing the contents of the box you will be greeted with the Vanquisher being sandwiched between two formed plastic pieces to protect the cooler. As can be seen in the above photo, there are not many extras here. The Vanquisher comes shipped with the Intel mounting bracket installed and the AMD clip laying on the front half of the formed plastic.

Pulling the cooler out you can get an idea of the overall size of it. The fan and frame work is a unique design, which is a nice change when compared to the standard fans on the market. The Vanquisher is fairly large heatpipe cooler that utilizes three large heatpipes to transfer the heat from the base to the cooling fins. It also uses a 92mm PWM fan that is rated at 1,000 - 2,300 RPMs.

Quote from OCZ:

The extremely compact and versatile OCZ Vanquisher CPU cooler is compatible with sockets AMD 754/939/AM2 and Intel 775. Because no motherboard back plate is required, the hassle-free Vanquisher is installed quickly and easily for all skill types. With no need to remove your motherboard to install this cooler, the OCZ Vanquisher can get right to work cooling your CPU and enhancing your computing experience.
