 Description:

Silent computing is becoming even more of a necessity these days with added performance in todays computers it is becoming increasingly harder to keep them properly cooled which means more fans. More fans inherently leads to more noise. Add in multiple hard drives, video card cooling fans and northbridge coolers and we have one seriously loud case! Antec, a company known for their quality computer cases and components has come up with a possible solution for those wishing to quiet their noisy PC down to an acceptable level. Introducing the P190 +1200 Advanced Super Mid Tower from Antecs Performance One series. This case boasts not only superior cooling performance but they say it can do this while remaining reasonably quiet. Lets take a look at what Antec has come up with.

 First Impression:

The first thing you will notice about the P190 is not the box nor its graphics, it will be the size! This thing is massive and if the box is this big the case can't be much smaller. The second thing you will find is that it is heavy. Now, I am not talking about steel case heavy. This thing is HEAVY! Weighing in at 43lbs (approx 19.5kg) it is the heaviest empty case I have ever put my hands on. Getting this into my house was no small task and I can already tell this is not a case you will be wanting to carry around once its populated.

The Antec Performance One P190 +1200 comes in a very large very black box. The box itself is rather plain but clearly states the content with the product name on the sides "P190" in very large letters. Up top in one corner you will find information about the warranty from Antec which includes three (3) years parts and labor on the case itself and a whopping five (5) year Antec Quality warranty on the NeoLink Power supply.

Breaking the seal and getting into the box you will find that Antec took special care when they considered the packaging for this case. As you can see the top side is protected but very thick pieces of high density foam and this is also present on the bottom of the package. Antec placed the manual for the P190 right up in the top of the box for you so those who like to read up on their new toy before playing with it can. Me, I kept digging down to get to the goodness that awaits.

Inside you will find that the case is protected on all 8 corners with even more thick high density foam. A quick peak inside and you will find that Antec has placed the NeoLink 550watt PSU's modular cables in the side of the box outside the case as well as more documentation.

Finally out of the confines of its cardboard tomb the monolith is unveiled. The P190 is truly a large case. It is deemed as a "Mid-Tower" case but it is still a sight to behold. Measuring - 20.28" (H) x 8.07" (W) x 23.35" (D) it is clearly not the tallest case but it is a little deeper than average.
