Sapphire PURE Black X58 Intel Motherboard

Article Index:

We will be taking a look at a brand new motherboard and I believe direction for SAPPHIRE. This board is quite different than what they have done in the past and on top of that it is an Intel CPUbased motherboard. Loaded with lots of extras and features this board could show that Sapphire is ready to challenge other manufactures.

First Look – Packaging and Information

Sappire Pure Black x58

SAPPHIRE has created a distinctive and out-of-the-norm looking retail box for themselves to promote the PURE Black X58 Motherboard. All the other boxes that I have seen from SAPPHIRE have been brightly colored and flashy with some sort of figure to grab your attention. This box is lacking all of that, but the sleekness gives you a more stylish classy impression.

The one thing that SAPPHIRE did not change was supplying enough information on the box telling you all about the features that make this motherboard stand out from the rest.

Even when you open the packaging and see the box that holds the motherboard and extras you are meet with a different look than the standard cardboard box. An all black box continues the theme that was started from the outside.

Includes in the box, along with the motherboard, is your normal accessories such as the manual, driver disk, I/O port plate and cables. What is really nice here is that you get six SATA cables, and they are black. not blue, not red, or yellow, but black. Even though it goes along with the PURE Black theme I think that other manufactures should follow suit and just give us black cables. The manual has just the basic information inside which includes the board layout, how to install the CPU, where and how to connect the power cards, SATA, and front panel wires. To get the full manual you will have to get it off the drivers disk.
