ECS President Sunny Yang rebuked rumours of the company’s pulling out of the motherboard DIY business in a letter sent to media outlets shortly after online publication DigiTimes published a news item stating that ECS will move out of the DIY space to focus on OEM/ODM production. According to DigiTimes, this was because “global demand for DIY motherboards is shrinking and ECS has been faced with increasing price competition”. ECS however states that they would “never give up any opportunity to work on own-brand (of) DIY motherboard” and vows to continue and put more resources on their product and marketing just as they have announced at Computex earlier a month prior.
