For a decade or so now manufacturers have been trying to build portable systems which offer some form of desktop like performance… or gaming prowess… for enthusiast users. The problem is that almost always they have come with some major drawbacks. Too heavy, too hot, too slow, too large… sometimes all of the above. I can remember carting a 17″ Alienware on my back, via the train, to work a number of years ago and it was a killer… and on top of that if it wasn’t plugged in I was lucky to get over an hour of use.
