Cyber Snipa Tracer Mouse Pad

 Description:

A mouse pad, or mouse mat, is a surface for enhancing the movement of a computer mouse.  That is the definition from the Wikipedia encyclopedia on the internet. Now, with that definition in mind, we'll see how a company can enhance the mouse movement. After doing some reading, I found out it could be quite elaborate. The enhancements can range from special surfaces to unique lighting effects. With this review we will be looking at a mouse pad that has both: the Cyber Snipa Tracer Mouse Pad.

 First Impression:

Flexiglow, from Hong Kong, is the developer of the Cyber Snipa products, which is a global supplier of PC modding and gaming accessories. Cyber Snipa has both pads and mats.  What I understand is that Cyber Snipa considers the hard variant a pad and the soft variant mat. The Tracer is of the hard variant that has a wow factor to it, which is in the form of adjustable edge lighting. Cyber Snipa has no suggested price on its website, but with a little searching on my part I found it from $21.95 up to $29.95.  It is also a larger than average mouse pad.  To top if off, it has a nice semi-smooth surface for premium mouse movement.  I will be using several mice during the course of testing this mouse pad.

The mice being used for the review are: Logitech Wireless Optical, MX310, G7, and Microsoft Wheel Mouse (ball version).

The shipping package that the Tracer came in did have an end smashed in a little, but it didn't affect the mouse pad in the least.  The Tracer is packed in a 2-piece formed plastic cover with a 1 3/4 inch touch hole, so that a person can feel what the surface of the board felt like.  The covers also had 2 staples on each side for a total of 8 holding it together.

Once you have removed the plastic shell, you will find the mouse pad in a card stock wrap with a portion of the mouse pad exposed through the touch hole. The front of the card stock has 4 color graphics and gives the dimensions of the pad, the color of the light effect and the type of connection. On the back, again four color graphics along with a description of the mouse pad features and contents in four languages.

Features:
  • Responsive gaming surface
  • Low Profile
  • Illuminated mouse pad
  • High Quality acrylic glass
  • Wide footprint
  • Dimmer dial on USB cable
Specifications:
  • 305mm x 230mm x 5mm (12.00 inch x 9.05 inch x .19 inch)
