Cougar Panzer-G Video Review

A Tempered Glass Mid-Tower

Tempered Glass has been making its way into more than just the side panels on cases lately, and the Panzer-G from Cougar turns that up to 11. If this case looks familiar, you’re right. It’s an evolution of the Panzer and Panzer-S cases released last year. In fact, the internals is nearly identical to my eye. But now instead of mesh panels, there is 3mm tempered glass on every side of this case.  On the top of, you’ll find a pair each of USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, along with headphone and microphone jacks.  Power and reset buttons sit just above those.

The two glass panels on the side have a nice ledge and tabs along the bottom to help support the glass during removal and installation, which is a welcome addition when using the thumbscrews to keep them in place.

Fan and radiator support is great for a mid-tower case, with mounts for triple 120mm or dual 140mm on both the front and top of the Panzer-G. There is an additional 120mm on the bottom, as well as another around the rear. And I was impressed to see that there are actually three 120mm Cougar Vortex LED fans included with this case. These fans will be available for individual purchase sometime in Q2 2018.

This case supports motherboards from mini-ITX up to ATX and CEB form factors.  The Panzer-G is wide open from front to back, allowing for up to three full-length GPUs, and room for whatever water cooling gear you want to throw at it.

The Panzer-G is an absolute joy to build in. The glass everywhere look isn’t always a great one, but Cougar managed to make it look exceptional. Overall, everything installs very easily, the case is plenty sturdy, and it sports both an aggressive and elegant look when completed.
