Description:
| Tired of the same ol look? Want to give that laptop / PC a little bit of your taste but lack the tools and equipment to do it? Well Laptop Design USA has a process that you might want to look in to. Laptop Design USA is relatively new company that was formed to brand companies' and organizations' laptop computers with their own colors, logos, and artwork. They have also branched out so that hobbyists, computer gamers, sports enthusiasts and others can brand their laptops, computer towers, and accessories. |
First Impression:
To start things off with. The review today covers Laptop Design USA's process of branding, while also covering the products showcased in the review. Laptop Design USA teamed up with Silverstone to send us a sample of their branding process. The base parts used in this process make for an excellent, quiet, SFF (Small Form Factor) setup that can go any place you want it to go.
Silverstone supplied the following products:
 |
|
1 - SG01 Evolution (Small Form Facrtor) SFF case. -The SG01-Evolution was created to further enhance the appeal of the original SG01. The challenge was to develop a small form factor enclosure that was capable of handling future generations of ultra high-end graphics cards running in parallel while keeping the delightfully slim dimension intact. In order to achieve this, SilverStone’s talented engineers devised a completely new fan bracket that can accommodate fan sizes greater than what is allowed with conventional layout. Overall ventilation is also increased thanks to enlarged vents all around. With the ability to accept larger ATX power supply or optical drives than any other SFF case available, the SG01-Evolution is a great addition for any enthusiast looking to get a powerful yet small workstation or gaming machine. |

1 - NT06 Lite CPU Cooler. -The Nitrogon NT06 was designed and created with one single purpose, to cool the hottest CPUs in the world. To achieve this goal, the original Nitrogon NT01 was brought back onto the drawing board and modified with more than twice the surface area to significantly increase heat-absorbing performance. Careful planning and bending of the thick sintered powder heat pipes ensures that the NT06 can fit on almost any motherboard and in most cases. With the NT06-Lite package, a cooling fan is not included to give user the choice of mating any 120mm desired or to use it fanlessly inside SilverStone's Sugo SFF chassis. |

1 - ST50EF Plus SC Power Supply w/ Short Cables -Equipped with a new generation of design and components, the Element ST50EF-PLUS short cable edition continues SilverStone's stride toward more efficient power supplies for SFF and Micro ATX cases. With higher than 80% efficiency, the ST50EF-PLUS short cable edition produces less wasted heat than typical power supplies and allows the included 120mm fan to operate at very low speeds, ensuring quietness at all times. This stable output and efficient characteristics are packed inside an environmentally-friendly casing, with shorter cables designed to fit all SFF and Micro ATX casing on the market. If strong power for dual core/dual video card processing and quietness are the main priorities, the Element ST50EF-Plus short cable edition is the one you want for your case. |
The Laptop Design USA sample came in the standard case packaging. Up to this point things had changed several times so I was really unsure of what exactly would be arriving at the door. I knew the base items being used but had no idea what it was going to look like.
I received two packages, one contains the Silverstone SG01 Evolution case of course, while the other contains the Silverstone NT06 Lite CPU Cooler and the ST50EF Plus SC power supply. All products arrived without any problems in shipping.
The case comes bagged and has two large foam pads on both ends. This gives it about 1.5 inches of space between the box and the actual case. The box is also made of heavier cardboard compared to most. Silverstone definitely wants your product to arrive without any damage. We also get a glimpse of the theme Laptop Design USA decided to use on the case.
Here we have a shot of all three items unpacked and ready to go. There is no guessing to what the theme of the design is, not sure I would choose this for a personal rig. We are looking at the result of Laptop Design USA's process rather than the design used in the mod. Don't get me wrong, I can easily find a couple of places that this would fit in nicely as a desktop PC. With in a few days of seeing the rig we (the staff of MI) have already dubbed it "Money-Hertz".
