Ultra X2 550W PSU - Red

 Description:

A power supply is one of the important hardware items in your computer. If your not producing steady solid power for your computer it will definitely let you know by how it runs. Its always important to make sure your not only putting out enough power, but also putting out good clean power. Today we are going to take a look at one of the newest PSU's from Ultra. The Ultra X2 550W power supply (Modders-Inc's is a 1 of 3 manufactured in Red). Which just happens to fit in nicely with my current case mod (M-III).

 First Impression:

The packaging of the the Ultra X2 550Watt PSU follows suit with just about every product Ultra has. The box showcases the item and just about every feature it offers. This makes it easily identifiable and informative. It does not leave the consumer wondering what they would get if they bought the product like some other manufactures.

The power supply is packed with its protection in mind. Below is a sample of how the Ultra power supplies come, with the large Styrofoam pieces sandwiching the power supply its obvious the package would have to take a pretty goo hit to get damaged.

Included with the X2 is the Users Manual and modular cabling. Our X2 is unique in the fact that its red with red cabling. I have not heard yet if there is any plans on whether these will make production. I know there was 3 red ones produced and at least one more color as well (shh). Regardless of the fact, the red power supply matched up with the red cables looks great.

The only real down fall of the unit I have is the UV reactive fan / window combination. It arrived with the UV reactive fan, two windows, and two UV CCFLs as does the standard Titanium UV PSU. From the manufactures end, the windows were done in blue do to clear windows making it look pink.
