CES 2021 Is Going All-Digital

Another live event cancelled for the tech industry

The largest electronics and tech showcase in the US will be changing the way it has operated for 50 years. A notice was sent out from Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® that CES 2021 will be an online event. Computex was also canceled in 2020 and went the digital way, and in our option, not that successful. It was up to each company as to how they would do things. The canceling of CES could have a huge effect on the growth of mid-size to startup business as this were they could show off what they have or are developing. This will also affect the economy of all of Vegas as an influx of up to 180,000 travelers migrates to Las Vegas, Nevada every January.

Here is the full statement from CTA about CES 2021

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® is reimagining how to connect exhibitors, customers, thought leaders, and media from around the world while prioritizing health and safety. Today, we’re excited to announce that CES® 2021 will be an all-digital experience.

For more than 50 years, CES has been the global stage for innovation. And CES 2021 will continue to be a platform to launch products, engage with global brands, and define the future of the tech industry.

With the growing global health concerns about the spread of COVID-19, it is not possible to safely convene tens of thousands of people in Las Vegas in early January 2021 to meet and do business in person.

An all-digital CES 2021 will allow the entire tech community to safely share ideas and introduce the products that will shape our future. As a media attendee, you’ll be able to participate in all the awe-inspiring moments of CES wherever you are in world. We are designing a unique experience for the tech industry.

CES 2021 will offer a highly personalized experience for media:

  • Media events. Hear from the world’s leading brands at exclusive digital press events.
  • Product showcase. Explore products and services, based on your specific beat and interests, through dynamic product showcases and live demos.
  • Keynotes and conferences. Enjoy a front-row seat for groundbreaking announcements and insights from the world’s tech leaders.
  • Meetings and networking. Engage with the brands and thought leaders your audience cares about.

Technology has helped us all work, learn, and connect during the coronavirus pandemic, and it has presented real solutions to help solve complex global challenges. We recognize that, particularly in these uncertain times, it is the partnerships of some of the most creative minds that bring the best solutions to life.

We’re looking forward to welcoming the global tech industry to kick off the year with the world’s most influential digital technology event.

Mark your calendars and get ready for an all-new CES coming in January. Please stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you in person at CES 2022.
