If the upgrades to the headset design weren’t enough, Creative has also given us their BlasterX Acoustic Engine Pro software. This software is way above the capabilities of whats available for the H5 and below.
We start out with the Master Screen, Profile, Acoustic Engine, and Equalizer. The master screen lets you select your headset and main volume. There is also a demo button to see hear how your Creative Sound BlasterX Pro-Gaming H7 Tournament Edition Gaming Headset sounds. The profile lets you choose one of several different pre-installed Audio Profiles. These profiles are specifically set for the game and style you play. You can also import additional profiles from other gamers or create your own. The Acoustic Engine screen lets you hear the differences in sound and adjust to your liking. The Equalizer lets you further tune or create your own profiles.
Scout mode lets you hear your enemies from further away. You can configure Hot Keys to turn Scout Mode, the Acoustic Engine, and Voice FX on or off. Voice FX is fun to play with. Try out different voices for the games you play. Several of them were difficult for my gaming buddies to understand. But fun none-the-less. In the Advances Settings screen, there are three sub-screens. You can adjust for your configuration: Stereo, 5.1, or Virtual 7.1 Surround. There is also the Mixer to balance your H7 Tournament Edition Gaming Headset and the Microphone. Finally, the Illumination screen lets you adjust the intensity and pulsation of the red X of your BlasterX H7 headset. You can set it to pulse with custom setting sliders or to pulse along with a tune. Using this in a game pulses the X rapidly in time with the action.
Lastly, in the software arena for the Creative Sound BlasterX Pro-Gaming H7 Tournament Edition Gaming Headset, we have the X-Plus Configurator. This software will allow you to upload 4 specific and 2 generic profiles directly to your H7 Tournament Edition Gaming Headset. With one of these uploaded profiles, there is no need to install the Acoustic Engine on each computer or platform you use.
