Closer Look at the Crucial BX500

The outer shell of the SSD is made from ABS plastic. It took a little force to open it up to find a half-sized PCB board of the SSD.

Memory chips here are by Micron (8MA22 on one side and 8JA22 on the other side). There is no information available for these chips. By the way, they look like they are 3D TLC flash chips.

Flash microcontroller in BX500 is by Silicon Motion (SM2258XT). This chip offers 6Gbps transfer speeds and has the ability to provide up to 540MB/s Sequential Read and up to 450MB/s Sequential Write speeds.
