The Viper V770 is Patriot’s flagship mechanical gaming keyboard that follows the V730 and V760 input devices in the product stack. It uses an 104+5 key ANSI layout and sports full RGB-backlit keys like the V760. As the flagship keyboard, the Viper V770 adds several conveniences over the previously released V760. This includes dedicated macro keys, USB pass-through, analog sound wheel and more. It is available for $20 more than the V760 at $139.99 and is covered with a two-year warranty.

The Patriot Viper V770 comes in a full-color box as it should so the potential buyer can get a preview of its per-key RGB LED feature. The front of the box shows the V770 keyboard in a 3/4 angle view while the back has the keyboard in full-frontal layout. Surprisingly, there isn’t much text on the red and black themed packaging, opting for the images to do the bulk of the promotion. There is a small viewing window on the arrow key area so users can try out how the red switch feels like before buying.
The outer packaging is actually a sleeve for a thicker, inner red box. Inside, the V770 keyboard is surrounded by foam padding and is further protected with a plastic bag.
Underneath the keyboard in the box is a detachable wrist-rest (in protective white foam sleeve). The rest of the accessories are found in the lower compartment. This includes a Y-connector splitter for the headphone and microphone jack. There is also an orange key-cap puller included. There is also an envelope which contains the user guide and Viper logo stickers.
